Member of the month for September!
The reason we picked Carina to be our member of the month for September is because of her courageous attitude! Despite the fact that she hadn’t been working out much before she joined Stadi CrossFit about a year ago, she gave her all straight from the very first day!
She is a good reminder for everybody that even though it may be a little scary to step outside your comfortzone and start doing something you don’t yet know how to, all you can really do is just to give it your best shot with no holding back. The worst thing that can really happen is that you sometimes fail, but that’s not so bad really. You learn that the world is still the same eventhoug you failed, but those are inevitable steps towards getting better. Giving your all every day is all you can do and enough to get you closer to where you want to be. Holding back and letting fear of failing come between you and your goals will not get you anywhere in the end.
Carina, you are showing a great example to your kids (and to everybody else too!) that when you want something, you should go after those things with 100% commitment and with no holding back as that is eventually the key ingredient needed towards reaching any goals in life!
“I had been living a fairly sedentary lifestyle for a while and really wanted to change this by incorporating physical activity into my daily routine”
When first joining Stadi Fit, my goals were quite modest. I had been living a fairly sedentary lifestyle for a while and really wanted to change this by incorporating physical activity into my daily routine. I have never considered myself to be a particularly athletic person and working out has usually felt like a bit of a chore, so I was eager to challenge my perception of myself and move outside of my comfort zone. Additionally, I really wanted to set a positive example for my two children for how to lead a healthy and wholesome life.
“I went from being a bit of a couch potato to being someone who thrives working out most days of the week! “
I was initially quite skeptical that I would enjoy Crossfit at all, but was immediately and very pleasantly surprised by just how much I liked even the tough workouts. The beginning was a little rough getting used to the jargon and all the different movements, but over the course of a year, I went from being a bit of a couch potato to being someone who thrives working out most days of the week!
My physical endurance and strength have certainly increased, which is a nice bonus, but more importantly, I now consider physical activity to be an absolutely integral part of my life and well-being. More than anything, I credit this positive change to the amazing community that I have found at Stadi Fit. The small group workout concept creates a safe environment to practice new skills and there is always an inviting atmosphere, all of which is especially crucial on those cold and dark mornings when I'd much rather stay in bed than complete 7 minutes of burpees (which is most mornings, to be fair!). Doing Crossfit has emphasized to me that consistency and perseverance are definitely key factors in accomplishing a set goal, but also that the process of getting there can and should be equally important and enjoyable.
“I am very excited to have found both a sport and a community that I can imagine myself being a part of for many, many years to come! “
I just recently discovered a joy of running, so one of my goals for the near future is to further improve on both my physical and mental stamina. I'm also interested in improving my gymnastics skills, in particular my handstand walk. Overall, I aim to remain healthy and free of injury so that I can continue on this active path and I am very excited to have found both a sport and a community that I can imagine myself being a part of for many, many years to come!
Keep up the excellent work, coaches and athletes of Stadi Fit :)
